Privacy Policy
Dusome Dental Hygiene protects all personal and health information in accordance with PHIPA (Ontario privacy law), CDHO Standards of Practice, and HIPAA-aligned security practices for electronic communication.
We collect only the information necessary to provide safe dental hygiene services, including your contact details, health history, clinical records, and treatment information. This information is used only for your care, recordkeeping, billing, communication, and compliance with CDHO and legal requirements.
Your information is stored securely using encrypted systems, password-protected devices, and restricted access. Records are kept for 10 years, or 10 years past a minor’s 18th birthday, as required by law.
We may share your information only with your consent, or when legally required—such as with another health professional involved in your care, insurers if you choose to submit a claim, or regulatory bodies (e.g., CDHO) when mandated.
You may request access to your records, ask for corrections, or withdraw consent (except where record retention laws apply). Telehealth, email, and mail-in services follow the same privacy and documentation standards.
